Having experienced my teenage angst during the 1980s, you can imagine how much I love Molly Ringwald. Those lips… her fashion sense… the red hair… her “I’m so over it” attitude. What is there not to love about Molly?

Molly is on tour promoting her book Getting the Pretty Back: Friendship, Family, and Finding the Perfect Lipstick and appeared on the red carpet at LAVO. My good friend Chris got a great video of her super cute outfit and shoes. Surprisingly, Molly was not in pink. Instead, she wore an on-trend white summer dress accented with what appears to be a Pucci scarf. It also looks like she’s carrying a Louis Vuitton clutch and is sporting some pretty summer wedges with gold metallic details. Pink or no pink, Molly is and will always be pretty. Love her!

This is an easy daytime outfit, because it’s all about the dress. It is a re-styled vintage piece purchased from a thrift store, with the original hem hitting me mid-calf. I took it to the tailor and had the hem shortened. I am in love with the print. Isn’t it cute?

Now, when I bought the dress, I knew I was going to have the hem shortened. And I originally planned on wearing it with short, slouchy cowboy boots. But these summer platforms work, too.

White accessories do this dress justice. Now that you can see it all, can you imagine how dowdy this dress originally looked with a hem that hit me mid-calf? All it takes is a little imagination to see the potential in a thrift store dress. You should try it sometime.

I love white watches. I’ve been coveting Michael Kors’ white watches for over a year now. I seriously should just break down and buy one. The one in the upper left corner is do-able, less than $200. However, the ceramic one just beneath it is almost $500. Take a look at the one next to it. That’s Fossil. Similar style, don’t you think? It’s only $95.

There’s a great range of white watches on the market today, from less than $100 to over $2,000. So, there’s definitely something for you. Some are cute and charming while others are sleek and classic. I guess if I could have my way, I’d buy one cute one like the Juicy Couture one in the bottom right corner and one classic, like the Michael Kors version. But, I’m posting several for you to peruse. After doing a blog post inspired by the Haltson white dress that SJP is wearing on the movie poster for “Sex and the City 2″ and then seeing “Today’s” piece on the Little White Dress (which is a must-watch, because the stylist features white dresses that are less than $100), I am officially white dress obsessed.

I have a really cute white eyelet summer dress, but now I want another one, preferably made from jersey knit. I’m also thinking I want a white wrap dress. We’ll see what I find. But, I am definitely on the hunt. And I figure, while I’m shopping for white dresses for me, why not find a few for you? Here are my favorite white dresses so far. Happy shopping!
