According to an Irish proverb, "A good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the doctor's book." I believe that, so much so that I make sure to laugh a lot and get eight to nine hours of sleep per night.
Laughter maintains my optimism and sleep wards off the wrinkles. There are certain elements one needs in order to get a good night's rest: a comfy mattress, a quiet room, soft sheets and nightwear that pampers your body, thus relaxing your mind.
While a lace teddy is necessary for turning bedtime into playtime, and your boyfriend's oversize tee makes for an easy nightshirt, sleeping in lace can often be a bit itchy. And using on oversize tee just isn't, well, attractive.
So when Colleen Luttman, owner and creator of What Lola Wants, an online retailer focused on luxury Egyptian cotton pajamas and lounge wear, contacted me to review her website and product, I was enthusiastically on board. I mean, if wearing quality, attractive fashion during the day enhances my confidence and boosts my spirit, then surely wearing quality, attractive fashion to bed will enhance my sleep and boost my rest. Right?
Right. I received a complimentary set of pajamas from What Lola Wants, which includes a pair of pink striped pants and a short sleeve tee, both from the brand Angelily and both made from 100% woven Egyptian cotton.
These pajamas are heavenly soft and luxurious. My husband hugged me as I tried on my new PJs and instantly exclaimed, "Oh! You are so soft and cozy!" Readers, the percentage of hugging has increased in my household, especially when I'm lounging in my Angelily pajamas from What Lola Wants.
But did they enhance my sleep? Yes! I was comfortable all night long, never fidgeting from a lace wedgie or an oversize tee that didn't keep me warm enough. My body temperature was comfortable and my sleep was restful. And if extra hugs and a good night's rest isn't enough to convince you to give What Lola Wants a try, then maybe the discount below will.

I know Valentine's Day has passed, but I just adore these wood heart earrings. They're just so mod. And, they're made from organic wood. Plus the size is so substantial without being heavy on the ears. I heart them.

On Monday, I wrote about my fashion evolution with the discovery of fashionable casual, sportswear and footwear. And one of the brands to assist me with this style reinvention is PH8. Formerly bebe sport, PH8 (pronounced fate) is a new brand to hit the women's fashion retail scene. Prices range from $19-$139, and their selection includes accessories (I adore their bags), athletic wear, velour track suits and fashion-forward pieces you can wear with anything in your wardrobe.
I absolutely fell in love with PH8's cotton leggings and bought two pairs ($22 each). They are so soft and comfy and feature a super cute knot accent at the bottom. I also purchased a super stylish nylon jacket dress in navy. The construction is very fashionable and the feel of the material is silky and supreme.
The PH8 staff was so helpful, bringing me several pieces to my dressing room. I was, at first, hesitant to try the black and silver metallic striped pullover hoodie, but once I had it on, I fell in love. I can just see myself wearing this to a yoga class, the spa or with a cute skirt to meet my girlfriends for lunch. Needless to say, I bought it, too.
Just check out my transformation below. The before picture is what I considered to be my casual wear – a basic hoodie, layered tank tops and some crop pants. Now check out my after photo. I finally know how to do sporty-casual while remaining utterly fashionable. All thanks to PH8!

BEFORE PH8:
I look okay. But there's nothing fashionably inspiring about this casual outfit.
AFTER PH8:
How chic am I? Sporty, comfortable and totally fashionable.

Editor's Note: I've received some great feedback from my first Moxsie Pick of the Day, that I've decided to make this a regular feature.
I don't leave the house without my USB flash drive. It has my resume, writing samples and complete professional portfolio on it, plus fun photos and anything else I think I might need at a moment's notice. I can't imagine going anywhere without it. Because, well..., you never know.
The great folks at Moxsie have a whole USB 2.0 Mac/PC compatible flash drive collection of MIMOBOTs. Characters include Darth Vader (Unmasked!), Wicket the Ewok and a couple of Tokidoki characters. Of course, my favorite is Hello Kitty because she's a fun, precocious little thing. Just like me!

I'm always blogging for the women, but this post is for the guys. Why? Well, let's just say I've been on a Dave Matthews Band kick lately and when I spotted these Vael Project Deckard Boots in Geoff Brown, I thought Dave would look hot in these. In fact, any down-to-earth man in a pair of jeans or cargo pants and a desheveled plaid shirt strumming a guitar would woo women in these manly boots. Plus, they look comfortable. And isn't that what men really want when sweet-talking the girls? After all, it's hard to be seductive when your feet hurt.
Style tip: This boot looks better with the shaft worn outside the pants. Trust me on this one.

I've been on a rant lately complaining about big corporations acting irresponsibly or just plain offensive. I am really disappointed with the H&M incident, and while I am choosing to believe their explanation, I am still taking a break from shopping there or using my brand to promote them until I see more responsible action from the retailer. H&M recently donated $100,000 to Haitian relief efforts, so the retailer is slowing working its way back into my good graces.
I'm also mad at NBC for the way they dishonored their contract with Conan O'Brien, Warner Bros and Netflix for delaying the rental of Warner Bros' new releases (and if this continues with other studios, I am SO cancelling my Netflix subscription) and, of course, Bank of America. Let's face it. Who isn't mad at Bank of America? Yes, I'm joining the Move Your Money movement.
But, I like to focus on the positive rather than the negative. And so, I would like to take this time to give props to two of my favorite fashion brands for acting in a very socially responsible and sensitive way when the earthquake in Haiti happened: RueLaLa.com and Tory Burch.
I also want to influence you to practice your power by spending your hard-earned money only with companies that behave in a manner with which you agree. If you disagree or are offended by the actions of any company where you normally spend your money, find a new place to spend it. Think of spending like it's voting. YOU, as the consumer, have the power to decide which companies will stay in business and which will go down in flames. As Patti Smith sang in the '80s, "People have the power."
Customers received this email message from Tory Burch. It shows that the designer feels the obligation to not only help Haiti, but to also report to her loyal customers her commitment to help.

Meanwhile, RueLaLa.com posted this message of compassion and sensitivity on their Facebook page last week.
Dear Members:
Rue La La joins the rest of the world in grieving the tremendous losses to the people of Haiti. Out of respect for those who have lost loved ones, their shelter, and life's basic necessities in this tragedy, we cannot stand by while relief efforts are underway without taking action. We are halting our Boutiques from now until Saturday at 8AM ET. We ask that instead you take this time - as we are - to make a donation to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Effort.
"The losses that have been suffered in Haiti are nothing less than devastating, and responding to a disaster of this magnitude will require every element of our national capacity," President Obama has said. We hope in some small way that we can have an impact in the midst of this devastation.
Sincerely,
Ben Fischman, CEO
If you know of other companies deserving of props for their acts of social responsibility, please feel free to leave a comment below and let us know. And if you want to know what I did to help, I used my iPhone to text my donation to the Red Cross. Merely text the word Haiti to 90999. Or, donate to Wyclef Jean's Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund by texting the word Yele to 501501.
What an AWESOME pick from Fashion Pulse Daily!

Loosely draped fabric, from infinity scarves to slouch boots and long loose sweaters are all the rage these days, so why not indulge while putting an ’80s spin on your item. We’re really digging the Mineral Wash Vest, $15.80, in charcoal or navy, because it gives the loose draping effect, contrasted with a fitted vest. Plus, we love the name ‘mineral wash’ — it sounds a lot more appealing than the ’80s reiminsicent-sounding ‘bleached’ or ’stonewashed’ denim.
From the pages of Fashion Pulse Daily.... Read a first-person review of the one and only Swarovski Concept Store.
Swarovski’s SoHo Concept Store – the only one of its kind in the US – is a unique shopping experience where customers get to play designer and create their own jewelry. The store is like the ultimate bead store and features not only thousands of elements to carouse but loaner tools, pre-packaged kits, a cafe in the back, and absolutely everything you would need to design your own jewelry.
The store’s “library of light” features over 2,000 elements (including: crystals, pearls, beads, and gems) that are organized by color and style (choose from more traditional cuts or youthful, funky designs such as heart and star shapes of different sizes!) and takes up an entire wall. They’re easy to access and the layout is reminiscent of an old-time card catalog system. You can find elements that compliment any price point – many are set as low as $5. If you’re looking to create your own masterpiece but aren’t sure where to begin, the store has an online design tool – which can be used in-store or at home – that allows you to discover different elements of design and create your own pieces. Likewise, at the store itself, staff is available to offer hands-on guidance. If you’re not into DIY, never fear! Throughout the year, the store will feature seasonal and more limited-edition designer collaboration collections. There’s currently several designer collaborations in-store, including Christopher Kane and Mahish Arora. Some of the designer collaborations can get a little pricey, but the store also features ready-made looks that won’t break the bank. The ready-to-wear jewelry is grouped into several categories to fit any lifestyle, including glamorous, classic, romantic, natural, and modern. The store is located at 499 Broadway, or check it out online at www.swarovski-crystallized.com -Sarah Nason

From the pages of FashionPulseDaily.com, learn why you need to add QVC to your shopping radar.

I used to laugh when my Aunt would talk about her late night purchases on QVC, as I couldn’t relate to buying products in that manner, however, once the orginally TV-based brand hit the web, I was intrigued, and realized that I was surfing the site late night as well! My interest increased lately, when QVC teamed up with Isaac Mizrahi to sell his collection, and once I checked the list of designers offered on QVC.com, I realized that the multimedia retailer has become much more akin to a specialty department store, with a constant flow of great deals and promotions. I recently tried out a few products from QVC, and really there is no difference in quality than what I would expect from buying the items at a boutique, except, perhaps the price is way better!
Although Isaac Mizrahi doesn’t debut on QVC until December 4th, you can get your fashion fix for less a lot sooner! Check out our favorite brands on QVC:
Back in February, I was contacted by a reader, whom I refer to as K., and who had a bad experience shopping at Editors' Closet. I invited her to write a guest blog post reviewing the online sample sale site. You can read her Editors' Closet review here.
Since then, many comments have been left at this particular blog post by other readers who wish to share their own experiences with Editors' Closet, some bad and some satisfactory. The biggest complaint is lack of follow up, such as a confirmation email and/or tracking number. However, readers also began to question the authenticity of the products they received from Editors' Closet.
I never received confirmed information that there was any validity to the concern and one reader left a comment confirming the products she received were, in fact, authentic. Her complaint was a slow refund process.
Keeping in mind that I have a background in retail marketing, I have to say that I was skeptical of the notion that Editors' Closet sells counterfeit products. Based on my professional experience and knowledge of the retail and fashion industry, it would be impossible for Editors' Closet to remain in business if in fact the site was selling fake merchandise. Fake merchandise is usually sold in a more anonymous and under-the-radar setting, such as in a back alley, out of the trunk of someone's car, via Craigslist or, of course, on Ebay.
Just recently, I was contacted by the Vice President of Sales at Editors' Closet who discovered the blog post reviewing the site and the many, many comments left. Rather than be defensive or demand I take the blog post down, he was instead courteous, professional and showed much concern over the issues raised at Lollie Shopping in regards to Editors' Closet. And, he addressed the following:
1. All products sold at Editors' Closet are guaranteed authentic. Editors' Closet is an authorized dealer for all brands sold at the website.
2. The customer service issues have been recognized. Editors' Closet has encountered tremendous growth in the two years since they began and they are constantly working to improve their service. However, if you do encounter an issue, please do not hesitate to call the Editors' Closet customer service line at 888-864-5750.
I was very surprised to hear from Editors' Closet and impressed with their interest in the posted review and comments left by other readers. I do believe the company to be trustworthy and professional, yet, I do believe some improvement is needed in order to increase the overall satisfaction of every customer who shops at Editors' Closet.
After contacting me and assuring me they have every intention of improving their service, I also believe there is hope and that we will indeed see a change for the better. In fact, I plan on finally giving Editors' Closet a try. After all, I have $15 worth of coupons I earned from sending out invitations to join the site when they first opened. I'll keep you posted.
Thank you to everyone who posted comments about their experiences. Please continue to let me know how your shopping experiences are at Editors' Closet.

The Jimmy Choo for H&M collection was not released in Las Vegas. So, I missed out. But, according to blogger Julia DiNardo of Fashion Pulse Daily, I shouldn't feel so bad. Maybe I didn't miss out on much. Read further to find out if the Jimmy Choo for H&M collection lived up to the hype.

THE SCENE: For one of the most anticipated designer collaborations, H&M this time was duly prepared for the launch. There was a long line outside of the store, however once inside, the crowd was calm and controlled, an army of staff was available, and the ground floor of the H&M flaghip on 51st and 5th Avenue was completely rearranged to accommodate the day. An hour and a half into the doors opening, the racks and display tables were still neat and fully stocked with a range of clothe and accessories while peoplke seemed to mill about and wait in the other line at the back of the store to try on shoes. This was the most interesting part of the whole event: people had to go to the second floor to get a wristband and then proceed back down stairst o wait in line to be entered into the “shoe holding pen” in groups — on a time limit! Once you’re time was up, you had to get out of the ring and head right to the cashier, which was a row of waiting employees, one foot away. Kudos to H&M for finally figuring out how to properly manage these launches!
The COLLECTION: Although I’d been looking at pics online for ages, I realized that seeing the clothes and just looking at pictures of them can be two entirely different things! The clothing tended to be more of the evening sort and of on par quality with H&M, with embroidery and sequins galore, faux fur vest, jumpsuits, suede dresses, and plastic clutches, while the shoes were actually a little less exciting in person. My suggestion: less clothes, more shoes, overall lower price points.
If Jimmy Choo & H&M expect people to pay $100-$150 for four-inch-heels that provide zero padding or support, why won’t they just charge $50-$75? Lest we not forget that a designer collaboration in this nature is a teaming up of a designer brand with a lower-priced retailer — just because I’d like to pay less money for a pair of Jimmy Choos doesn’t mean that my tolerance of footpain would be any different than anyone who would pay $500 or $600 for a pair of shoes.
So in conclusion — good try, but I, and I think a lot of other people, would at least be willing to rationalize 4-inch-heels that are killers, for $49.99, but the pricing of this collection is a little too much to rationalize on that front. Even though we may be pinching pennies these days, there are certain things that just shouldn’t be sacrficied, like well-made, comfortable footwear. Walking over to the H&M flagship I dropped off three pairs of shoes that I love to be re-heeled and re-soled for a total of $60 — now that’s a deal!
