Lollie Note: Fall beauty trends are definitely drawing inspiration straight from the fashion runways. And just as every fashionista preps her fall wardrobe, her beauty routine will also need a few tweaks. Las Vegas Beauty Blogger Cindy Pino of My Beauty Confessions shares with us her best tips and recommendations for haute fall beauty.

I caught a whiff of cinnamon and a hint of pumpkin in the air last night as I exited my local grocery store. The smell of fall is in the air. The gradual dip in temperature and the shorter days are just some of nature’s way of telling us that summer is over, even here in the Las Vegas desert. While you may have to say au revoir to some summer beauty items, not all is a toss because some of this year’s fall beauty trends still have a little summer in them.

Here’s how you can transition your favorite summer looks into the latest fall beauty must-haves:

SKIN

Always use moisturizer with an SPF of at least 15 to protect your face from the sun all year round. The summer sun leaves our skin dehydrated. So as we move into fall, we need to trade in our sheer tinted moisturizer for a slightly heavier foundation to combat the cooler drier weather. You’ll also begin to lose your summer glow, so feel free to bronze on! For fall, try mixing your bronzer with illuminating powder or moisturizer for a more refreshed look.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer – Contains SPF15 and total soy complex to even out skin tone which is especially important as our skin adjusts to cooler, drier weather. Retail prices may vary from $11-$17.

Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream – This is a heavier moisturizer that will prevent flakiness and dry patches by leaving your skin smooth and hydrated. SRP $58.

EYES

Metallics are all the rage for fall. Bronzed browns, copper and golds, deep purples, midnight blues. Full brows are back so lay low on the tweezers and make sure to fill in any sparse areas with powder, wax or pencil. As a smokey-eye addict myself, I plan on continuing using the look into fall but tweaking my traditional brown smokey eye with metallics and perhaps going for a royal blue smokey eye.

L’Oreal Paris HiP Professional Metallic Duo Eyeshadows – One of my favorite duos in this line is Gilded but am excited to try one of the bolder metallics. These eyeshadows have great pigment and blend easily. $7.99 but prices may vary.

MAC Paint Pot in Genuine Treasure - Recently launched in the Posh Paradise Collection, this color is a glittery brown that can be worn alone or over your favorite matte eye color and great for achieving that metallic smoky eye. It retails for $17.50 for 0.17 oz.

LIPS

Creamy lipsticks in bold deep colors like deeps reds, fuchsias and crimsons, burnt oranges and dark plums look amazing with a flawless complexion. Remember, if you go with more intense lips, go light everywhere else and look for the best hue to compliment your skin tone.

As summer ends, we men look forward to the changing weather that dictates what type of outfit we should put together and what kind of shoes to wear. Weather can be unpredictable at times during the fall, but change is always good. We must be prepared with three types of footwear for fall: a sneaker, a boot, and a casual shoe.

1. One of the MOST iconic sneakers since 1988 is the Air Jordan III in the Black Cement color way. Re-releasing on Black Friday, November, 25, this shoe has nabbed the top spot because of its versatility and legendary status. It is limitless as far as thinking about your clothing options to wear with it. Black tumbled leather, cement grey elephant print, and slight hint of red makes this shoe perfect for all ages – subtle yet beautiful.

2. Originally Supra was known for skateboarding sneakers, but then the brand successfully made the transition into taking over the casual world with sleek high top silhouettes. This fall, Supra took a big leap and revived classic boots for men. Choosing between which style of boot looks better, The Douglas or Skyboot, comes down to which fits better, because they are equally eye catching. The options between a premium leather or canvas upper, gum sole or black sole will be cause for a tough decision. 3. When you think of stylish, casual and fashionable street wear, there is only one company that seems to be able to incorporate all of that perfectly into footwear: VANS. The brand has collaborated with British retailer Offspring to create two pairs of shoes that demand you to want them for fall. This collaboration puts premium leather and soft suede to perfect use. Bonus: as simple and as classic as it gets, the Nike Air Force 1 commemorates a legendary basketball star John Strickland with a classic silhouette style. This shoe offers a clean look for any guy in any outfit. Dress it up with khakis or dress them down with cargo shorts. Either way, this October shoe release will have you set. The tongue tab reads, “finish your breakfast” to honor the star who passed last year.

It’s still warm in Las Vegas, but my mind is on fall. The Fall Beauty Preview Party I co-hosted with Las Vegas fashion stylist and blogger Christie Moeller and presented by favorite retailer Neiman Marcus was a hit! Neiman Marcus offered complimentary pomegranate martinis and mini manicures using Deborah Lippmann nail polish, while hair care brand B. The Product gave beautiful blowouts. But the best part of the event was the gaggle of gorgeous, chic people who attended. It was our guests who made the event so successful. So thank you to all of you who came out, learned what our top beauty picks are, shopped and got beautified.
