I’ve done some research, but I still have not uncovered the designer behind this gorgeous piece. What I have been able to accomplish is finding a few comparable and accessible versions for you to obsess over, too. Swank wore her ensemble with a pair of white platforms with a wood heel. The first time I met with Goodwill to discuss this event, I couldn’t help but shop the adjacent thrift store after. And here’s what I nabbed: this pretty floral dress for around $6. Don’t you just love Goodwill? You can follow the Southern Nevada branch on Twitter at @sngoodwill.

I wore this new-to-me find to my most recent meeting with Goodwill and once again stopped by the thrift store. This time I walked out empty-handed, but not before my fashion swap event partner Lauralie snapped the above photo of me relaxing in the furniture department. The blue hair tinsel in the photos below was added later after seeing my stylist for my routine beauty touch ups.

The boots are a $15 find from the $15 store, originally $119. At first, I wanted the darker version. But I’m glad I ended up with this sand color. They’re rugged, yet still quite feminine. Like me!

Wear a dress. But don’t just wear any dress. Wear something that you wouldn’t ordinarily wear. Stun your coworkers, relatives and friends. Be appropriate and respectful, of course, but consider thinking outside of the box. Don’t allow the term prom dresses to deter you. You would be surprised at the selection of beautiful and affordable dresses you can find among the prom gowns.

Wear metallic eyeshadow or bold red lips. But don’t do both. Seriously. DO NOT WEAR BOTH AT ONCE.

Wear sparkling high heels. If you are the type of woman who normally wears flats all day, now is your chance to step out of your comfort zone. Literally. Do it. It will be good for you.

Wear your best jewelry. I know so many women who save their better and fine jewelry. Now is the time to pull it out and show it off.

Men, wear a suit! Not only that, but leave the white shirts at home and wear one with color. Think burgundy, lavender or pink. Women love men in pink. I promise.
