About eight fashion trade shows hit Las Vegas between Monday and Wednesday, and I covered them all. But I also spoke at a luncheon in the middle of it for the local Las Vegas chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). As part of a three-person panel, I did a presentation on how to pitch a blogger. I had a wonderful time meeting with the IABC board and members, and they were all extremely gracious and friendly.

Because I was going from the luncheon to cover more trade shows, I wanted to wear some comfy jeans. But since I was a speaker, I also wanted to be somewhat professional. So as you can see, I wore a tie. This cheerful top is an upcycled piece purchased at Altered Nation, a pint-sized boutique that focuses on re-fashioned apparel and accessories and located in downtown Vegas at Emergency Arts. Fashion Inspired: Random Vegas Tourist

I love being a girl on the go, but unfortunately it makes it difficult to capture a quick snapshot of the many interesting things I happen upon in my home of Las Vegas.

For example, while leaving one of my favorite shopping hubs, The Forum Shops at Caesars, I spotted the CUTEST tourist dressed in a chic outfit. She stood out among the touristy looks of fanny packs and Ed Hardy T-shirts, which taint the reputation of this fabulous town. At the wheel of my automobile, I couldn’t snap a shot, but I memorized her look, forever inspired and recreated it for you here. (I also shouted, “You’re so cute!” as I passed her in my car, but I’m not sure she heard me or that she could even understand English.)

The gist of the look is a ruby red wrap, which completely covered her torso, I couldn’t see what she wore beneath. She added a pair of menswear style shorts, dark brown tights and over-the-knee boot that perfectly matched her tights. The suggested accessories are my own ideas, chosen to complement this stylish look.
