On my Homepage and About page, I encourage all readers to contact me with their Fashion Impossibles. That is, missions of fashion that seem too hard to overcome. Of course, with Lollie Shopping in your corner, you shall overcome. And believe it or not, I actually do respond to Fashion Impossibles. So I want to motivate all of you to keep them coming!
Here are my top three favorites from the past two months. I think they’re pretty common and applicable to the everyday woman. Enjoy this free fashion advice, courtesy of Lollie Shopping!
Taking Style Up a Notch
I received an email from a reader who felt connected to my own personal sense of style. She is normally a t-shirt and jeans kind of woman, but she longed to increase the level of sophistication of her style. In addition, she is also a size 16 and just didn’t know where to shop. Here is my advice.
First and foremost, begin with baby steps. T-shirt and jeans aren’t necessarily a bad style. In fact, I find that to be the classic American style. My favorite outfit to wear is a white t-shirt with a pair of jeans and a black pair of shoes. I’ve been wearing that since 1990, and I’ve found it to be a very dependable outfit. But, here’s how you class it up: fit.
The t-shirt must fit your body in a very complimentary way. In other words, no back fat. Also, the jeans must fit perfectly, too. That means no muffin top. As long as you stick with t-shirts and jeans that fit well and compliment your physique (whether you are a size 2 or a size 22), then t-shirts and jeans are just fine.
You can add chic style to a t-shirt and jeans outfit through the accessories you wear. Think a fringe-filled scarf, strands of pearls or a wide belt. Focus on one main accent, such as a scarf OR a belt OR a statement necklace. Never do more than one main accessory accent at once. Then add two smaller accents, such as a thin clutch or a pair of earrings. The right accessories can dress up a regular t-shirt and jeans outfit. The widgets below offer some great accessory options for a t-shirt and jeans outfit.
Once you’ve come to terms with your daily uniform and how to dress it up, then when you’re ready, add a basic, yet very sexy, style to your wardrobe. My suggestion is the wrap or faux wrap dress.

Mock Wrap Dress, $69.00 at Silhouettes
And while you’re adding wrap dresses to your wardrobe, also consider a wrap blouse.

Faux-wrap blouse, $59.50 at Talbots
Wrap dresses, wrap blouses and just about anything with a V-neck are all flattering on all women of any figure. It should be your go-to silhouette.
And as for where to shop if you’re a size 16 or more? I love IGIGI
. I find their styles to be very sexy and flattering on the curvaceous woman.
A Chest Full of Ruffles
Recently a friend tweeted that she wished she had a smaller bust line in order to accommodate for ruffles. Being that we are actually close friends in real life, and we’re the same bra size, I felt comfortable initiating an intervention. Of course we busty girls can wear ruffles. We just have to take in account the volume! Here are some voluminous ruffle options for girls over a B cup.

What Do I Wear?
A designer, whom I’ve blogged about, emailed me and asked, “I’ve got an upcoming trunk show. I want to be comfortable, but want to look trendy. What do I wear?”
“FLORALS!” I exclaimed! You know how much I am loving florals right now. I told her to pair a floral tunic, top or jacket with leggings. Originally, I directed her to New York & Company, but since their 50% off sale is over with, here are additional options for your choice of florals.
