Make room in your home office, living room, and of course, your kitchen cabinets, for some new stuff from IKEA. Las Vegas is in a frenzy, as we have waited ever-so-patiently for our first IKEA to open its doors. It’s finally happening on May 18th at 9 am.
“We look forward to introducing customers in Southern Nevada to a whole new way of shopping for the home,” says Amy Jensen, store manager. The 351,000 square-foot IKEA Las Vegas store, with 1,300 parking spaces, will feature nearly 10,000 exclusively designed items, 50 inspirational room-settings, three model home interiors, a supervised children’s play area, and a 450-seat restaurant serving Swedish specialties such as meatballs with lingonberries and salmon plates, as well as American dishes and more sustainable options. Other family-friendly features include a ‘Children’s IKEA’ area in the Showroom, baby care rooms, play areas throughout the store and preferred parking.
Customers can begin lining up at the store on Monday, May 16th – 48 hours in advance of the doors’ opening on May 18 – and soon can learn of more grand opening plans and promotions at IKEA-USA.com/LasVegas. It will be the Swedish company’s first store in Nevada, and 42nd in the U.S.
