It’s contemporary name brand and designer fashion at thrift store prices. It’s Déjà Blue Boutique, a well-curated shop of second-hand, statement-making fashion by the non-profit organization Goodwill, now open in the Summerlin suburb of Las Vegas.
However, this new concept store is not your usual Goodwill. Instead of digging through racks of apparel looking for a style gem, Déjà Blue is already merchandised for you. No digging is required. You will easily find that perfect piece to nicely complement your own wardrobe.
I spotted a few treasures during a preview and reception of the boutique prior to it opening to the public, including a handsome Zara Men’s coat for only $60 and a gorgeous jacquard jacket from White House | Black Market for only $30.
I also found many on-trend pairs of shoes in good condition and some chic, vintage furs. There are also many faux luxury label handbags and accessories, all of which are priced low because the store acknowledges they aren’t real and they aren’t trying to trick customers. Still, if you have any questions about the authenticity of your discovered find, just ask an associate.
Of course, the best part of Déjà Blue is knowing that when you shop there in an effort to look good, you’re also doing something good for the community. That’s because Goodwill’s mission is to provide education, employment and training to those who face challenges finding employment.
In 2012, Goodwill of Southern Nevada helped 1,800 people in the area find jobs and provided services to more than 8,000. The opening of this new 2,800 square foot fashion boutique created eight jobs. Additionally, the store will accept your own fashion donations during regular store hours.
Déjà Blue Boutique is located at 10300 W. Charleston, at Town Center, inside the Albertson’s plaza. For more information, go to www.sngoodwill.org.
