Make It a Fiesta with Cantina Laredo

Feliz Navidad, fashionistas, shopaholics, holiday elves, and fierce foodies. Are you in the midst of planning celebrations, banquets, and girlfriend get togethers? Well, if you want to add some class and spice to your occasion, then consider hosting your event at Cantina Laredo at Tivoli Village. The venue is lively without being obnoxious. The drinks are tasty without being too sweet. And the food is imaginative without being pretentious.

Let’s start with libations. You can’t go wrong with the Cabo Flip (top photo, below), featuring a lime boat full of tequila. But you must also try the Honey Crisp Margarita (next photo down). Special for the holidays, the Honey Crisp Margarita is an apple infused treat with a cinnamon rim. This delightful drink is the holiday treat your mouth craves.

For appetizers, stick with the traditional chips, queso, and guacamole. But know that at Cantina Laredo, these usual pre-meal snacks are anything but usual. You’ll find the Queso Laredo to be quite addictive, as it includes taco meat and pico de gallo. The Top Shelf Guacamole is made tableside, so it’s fresh and zesty.

As far as entrees go, the menu is filled with many options. But my favorite, highly recommended plate is the Cameron Poblano Asada. It’s a beautifully grilled steak wrapped around a poblano pepper that is stuffed with shrimp, mushrooms, and monterey jack cheese. It is to die for!!! As I write this blog post, my mouth is watering. And I have not been able to stop thinking about this meal for days now.

For dessert, you could select Cantina Laredo’s Flan, and it would be an excellent choice. But, if you want to really try something daring and decadent, I implore you to order the Mexican Apple Pie. This perfect postre is a hot and cold experience of a warm apple pie served on a hot cast iron pan, topped with cinnamon or vanilla ice cream, and adorned with Mexican brandy butter. It’s the kind of dessert that would tempt Santa himself into being a little naughty.

So as you plan your holiday festivities, leave the cooking and cleaning to someone else and book your event with Cantina Laredo. A private dining room is available, or you can simply have your besties meet you at the bar. Turn your holiday into a real fiesta.

Cantina Laredo is located at 430 South Rampart inside Tivoli Village. Visit online at www.cantinalaredo.com.

Complimentary food and beverages received, but did not affect my opinion.
