How to Avoid the Perils of Pit Stains

It’s hot as hell in Vegas right now. And it’s going to stay this way for months.

Now, I LOVE living in Sin City, but we pay for our sins each and every year with unbearably hot summers, which causes makeup to melt, cars to overheat, and the arm pits of shirts to form embarrassing pools of moisture. Even the most confident among us can feel sadly unattractive when exiting one’s car at valet with pit stains so obviously showing.

And we try everything to avoid it, especially blasting our automobile air conditioner and lifting our arms at red lights to try and get some air in there. Yet we still somehow manage to end up with pit stains. Yuck!

Inventor Billy Thompson found a solution to the problem by creating a patented undershirt that blocks underarm sweat. It’s called the Thompson Tee and it features Hydro-Shield Sweatproof Technology, which protects your clothes from armpit stains. Brilliant! Right?

Here’s how the shirt works: within the armpit of the undershirt, Thompson has place a three-layered guard that includes two panels of premium cotton, and sandwiched in between is the hydro-shield, which provides a breathable, waterproof barrier. It literally blocks moisture from passing through. So, if you’re wearing the undershirt beneath a designer silk button down, you don’t have to worry about those dreaded wet pit stains. The Thompson Tee is designed to protect your shirt from getting wet from armpit sweat.

Now while the Thompson Tee is designed as an undershirt, I wore mine out and about on an above 100-degree Las Vegas day as a regular white T-shirt. While the armpit guard design is obviously there,  to me, it merely looks like a stylistic design, and I had no qualms about wearing the shirt in public as a regular top.

And I purposely chose a very hot day that included lots of errands to put my Thompson Tee to the test. Now, I did wear deodorant, and I’m glad I did. While the Thompson Tee protects sweat from seeping through to your top, it isn’t designed to combat odor. Also, I did feel moisture, but only where my armpit and the inner layer of cotton touched. Never did the moisture get past that sandwiched layer of hydro-shield. The second layer of cotton, the outside layer, never once got wet. It was pretty incredible. And while I felt sweat underneath my T-shirt, I felt and looked fresh outside of it.

Do you sweat profusely? No worries. According to the makers, Thompson Tee will work for you, too. In fact, the Hydro-Shield Technology was developed especially for those who suffer from Axillary Hyperhidrosis. Another cool fact: Thompson Tee is manufactured in the USA. That’s always a plus.

The Thompson Tee is available for both men and women in Original Fit and Slim Fit, and they’re only $25 each. That’s a small price to pay to avoid the perils of pit stains. For more information on Thomson Tee, go to A Thompson Tee would make a GREAT gift for Dad!
